Established in 1995, MABA is dedicated to making The Hill a spectacularly attractive place to live, work and visit. Our urban gardeners plant and maintain the gateway gardens, pots and planters in the business district, larger garden beds throughout the neighborhood and flower boxes on the Ida Street Bridge which are then tended throughout the year by our members who may be seen watering, weeding and tidying-up each space.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of Mt. Adams Beautification Association. MABA supports year-round improvements to the community which are funded through membership fees, grants, donations and fund-raising activities. While MABA is primarily a garden club, its members promote seasonal activities and projects that support the neighborhood’s ambiance and beauty.

MABA EVENTS

  • CLEAN UP MT. ADAMS

    Bi-annual event in Spring and Fall.

    This community-wide effort to remove trash and debris from streets and stairways is supported by neighborhood volunteers. MABA provides the necessary tools, gloves & trash bags with prizes and a lunch for participants.

  • LUMINARIA ‘Light Up Mount Adams’

    Mt. Adams is aglow with thousands of luminarias lining the streets for one night of holiday magic. It creates the perfect setting to stage the annual Holiday on the Hill celebration.

  • HOLIDAY ON THE HILL

    A cozy evening of enchanted community fun. With the streets alit with luminaria, neighbors gather at the St. Gregory Street Plaza to welcome Santa and cheer the season with warm libations and carols.

  • DECK THE HILL

    A community-wide competition to festoon homes, apartments and businesses with festive holiday décor. MABA awards the merriest street and the most spirited efforts of Mt. Adams residents.

  • Our members actively maintain the overall beauty of the neighborhood and enjoy field trips, outings plus attend monthly meetings.
